Position Summary:
The Human Resources and Payroll Executive is responsible for supporting a variety of HR functions, including employee relations, onboarding, benefits administration, compliance, and especially payroll processing. This role ensures HR operations run smoothly and efficiently while maintaining compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
Payroll:
- Process biweekly/monthly payroll accurately and on time.
- Maintain employee payroll records and ensure data integrity.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll laws and regulations.
- Respond to payroll-related inquiries and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
- Coordinate with Finance to ensure proper payroll accounting and reporting.
- Manage year-end reporting
HR Operations:
- Administer employee lifecycle activities including onboarding, offboarding, and changes in employment status.
- Maintain and update employee records in HRIS and personnel files.
- Assist with benefit enrolments, changes, and terminations; act as a liaison between employees and benefit providers.
- Support employee engagement initiatives and performance management processes.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and company policies.
- Assist in the development and implementation of HR policies and procedures.
Onboarding:
- Assist in coordinating interviews.
- Conduct new hire orientations and ensure smooth onboarding experiences.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
- 5+ years of experience in an HR Generalist or similar role, with hands-on payroll processing experience.
- Strong knowledge of employment laws and payroll regulations.
- Experience with HRIS/payroll systems
- Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
- High attention to detail and ability to handle sensitive and confidential information.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive attitude.
