Service Operations are responsibe for day-to-day maintenance and management of organisation’s IT infrastructure to ensure delivery of the agreed level of IT services to the business, as well as all the activities, processes, policies, and procedures performed to design, implement, improve, and support IT services.
Technical stream includes roles which require the application of expertise within a narrow field of technology (e.g. platform architecture, cyber security, software programming) to achieve results. Results are mainly delivered through individual contirbution, not through managing others. Progression in these roles reflects an increasing depth of technical knowledge and skills.
A colleague at this level performs work that is based on routines and any new knowledge is generally acquired through short explanations and simple instructions.
Colleagues perform highly specific task or tasks of limited scope and responsibility that have well-defined processes and procedures and readily available instructions.
The job requires little or no prior work experience within the functional area and the colleague is not expected to exercise independent judgment. Works under close supervision.
