Position Summary
The Japanese Interpreter will facilitate effective communication between Japanese expatriates and local staff through interpretation and translation services. This role is essential for enhancing cross-cultural understanding, assisting with various logistical arrangements, and providing support to expatriates in their daily activities.
Scope and Responsibilities
Interpretation and Translation
- Facilitate clear communication during meetings by providing real-time interpretation between Japanese and local language speakers, ensuring all parties understand the discussions accurately.
- Translate various written documents and emails, including reports, contracts, and correspondence, between Japanese and the local language, ensuring accuracy and cultural appropriateness.
General Support and Administration
- Arrange and order daily meals for expatriate employees, including traditional obento (Japanese lunch boxes), accommodating dietary preferences and restrictions.
- Manage hotel bookings for expatriates and guests, including payment processing and confirmation, to ensure a comfortable stay.
- Assist in creating detailed itineraries and schedules for expatriates, including organizing restaurant reservations and leisure activities, such as golf tee times and membership applications.
- Oversee logistics for guests and visitors, providing comprehensive support to enhance their experience, from arrival to departure.
- Coordinate transportation logistics for guests, including scheduling drivers and vehicles, and ensuring timely arrivals for appointments and events.
- Develop and monitor a preventive maintenance schedule for company vehicles, coordinating maintenance activities with service providers, such as Toyota or Lexus, and obtaining necessary quotes for services.
- Adapt to the dynamic needs of Japanese expatriates by performing additional tasks as assigned, showcasing flexibility and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
Other Related Tasks
- Perform additional duties as assigned to support the HRGA team and ensure efficient operations.
- Assist with special projects or initiatives related to human resources and general affairs as needed.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Linguistics, Translation, International Relations, or any related course. A degree in Japanese studies is also beneficial.
- With JLPT certification Level 2 (N2)
- Minimum of 3-5 years of professional experience in interpretation and translation, preferably in a corporate or business environment.
- Experience working with Japanese expatriates or within a Japanese company, providing insight into cultural nuances and business practices.
- Experience in administrative roles that involve managing logistics, scheduling, and coordination, particularly in an international context.
- Background in customer service or client-facing roles, demonstrating strong interpersonal skills and the ability to handle inquiries and concerns effectively.
- Experience in coordinating projects or events, showcasing organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Experience in industries relevant to the organization (e.g., manufacturing, IT, or trade) may be an advantage, as it can provide context for technical terminology and practices.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: Php60,000.00 - Php70,000.00 per month
