Job Description:
Position Summary:
The Master Electrician is responsible for the design, installation, maintenance, and repair of complex electrical systems in residential, commercial, or industrial settings. This role includes overseeing other electricians, ensuring work is up to code, and managing projects from planning to completion.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, design, and install electrical wiring, fixtures, control devices, and equipment.
- Interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
- Inspect and test electrical systems for compliance with local and national electrical codes.
- Diagnose malfunctioning systems and perform repairs or replacements as necessary.
- Supervise, mentor, and train apprentice and journeyman electricians.
- Ensure all work is completed according to safety protocols (e.g., OSHA standards).
- Manage projects, including scheduling, material procurement, budgeting, and reporting.
- Obtain and manage electrical permits; coordinate with inspectors.
- Collaborate with contractors, engineers, architects, and clients.
- Maintain records of all electrical work and system performance logs.
Qualifications:
- Valid Master Electrician license
- Proficient in using electrical tools, meters, and testing equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret construction documents and electrical schematics.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- High attention to detail and commitment to safety.
