Qualifications:
Candidate must be Graduate of BS Biology Major in Micriobiology or equivalent
Must have 0-2 years related work experience
Licensed Microbiologist is an advantage
Exposure in various microbiologist testing is an advantage
Must be analytical, detailed and results-oriented
Willing to work in Mandaue City, Cebu
Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Prepares samples for laboratory tests to derive quality level in accordance with prescribed standards and procedures.
2. Performs laboratory test and produces accurate test results in accordance with prescribed test standards/specifications.
3. Prepares culture media, reagents, and sterilize utensils in accordance with prescribed test methods.
4. Check and receives incoming sample for analysis.
5. Ensures systematic workflow of analysis by noting turnaround time and priority of analyses.
6. Responsible for proper use of instruments/test equipment and reports defective equipment to immediate superior.
7. Coordinates with supervision as to appropriate application and number of tests for various samples and compute test results.
8. Discusses test result and problem encountered in testing immediately with Supervisor/s.
9. Evaluates results obtained from analyses with coordination with immediate superiors.
10. Assist in preparing and monitoring Housekeeping and Environmental condition of the laboratory and submits with approval to Senior Microbiologist / Microbiologist III.
11. Assist in preparing and updating Sample Disposal Monitoring with approval to Senior Microbiologist / Microbiologist III.
12. Monitors inventory of glassware, reagents, culture media, and other consumables.
13. Participates on the Laboratory Quality Control and Assurance i.e., measurement uncertainty, method verification, etc.
14. Participates in Microbiology Laboratory’s SOP review and revision.
15. Submits request for laboratory supplies and consumables. Ensures a working stock of consumables sufficient for uninterrupted workflow.
16. Maintains the proper housekeeping of the laboratory and integrity of samples.
17. Maintains confidentiality of procedures, test results, clients, and other pertinent information.
18. Prepares other relevant duties that may be assigned by the immediate superiors.
