Job Overview:
The Technical Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of a team of 10–25 API professionals, including digital product developers, testers, business analysts, product owners, and IT personnel. This role involves providing leadership and direction to local staff, ensuring efficient team operations, and maintaining alignment with organizational goals and policies.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead a multidisciplinary team with a variety of skill sets across technical, administrative, and project functions.
- Manage and allocate workloads in coordination with onshore technical leads and team scrum masters to ensure optimal team performance.
- Serve as a liaison between onshore and offshore teams to foster collaboration, resolve conflicts, and ensure effective communication.
- Provide performance feedback, coaching, and mentorship; conduct staff evaluations in partnership with technical leads.
- Oversee team compliance with internal policies, HR procedures, and applicable training requirements.
- Facilitate team onboarding and define operational processes and documentation standards.
- Review and ensure the quality of technical work through evaluations and oversight.
- Promote a culture of accountability, teamwork, and high performance through strong leadership and delegation.
- Monitor team performance metrics, analyze trends, and generate KPI reports for management.
- Manage the local budget in collaboration with finance teams, and oversee workspace and IT needs.
- Uphold company standards and regulatory compliance (e.g., ISO, FDA) in all operational activities.
- Actively recruit, develop, and retain top talent to build a balanced, high performing team.
- Contribute to problem-solving efforts and escalate issues when appropriate.
- Demonstrate flexibility and agility in a fast-paced environment, balancing multiple responsibilities and shifting priorities.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in managing technical teams.
- Strong background in Agile/Scrum methodologies and project/team leadership.
- Working knowledge of MS SQL, APIs, and .NET technologies.
- Proficient in standard office and project management tools (e.g., Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project); experience with tools such as TFS/DevOps, HL7, and Smart Bear is a plus.
- Excellent organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills.
- Proven leadership attributes including initiative, adaptability, integrity, and clear communication.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities while ensuring the team meets deliverables and deadlines.
- Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively across all levels of the organization.
- Experience in project management and familiarity with audits and regulatory environments is desirable
