Duties and Responsibilities
1. Order Management for Construction Materials
- Receive and process purchase orders for construction materials, tools, and equipment.
- Verify product specifications (e.g., sizes, grades, compatibility) against project blueprints or job site needs.
- Confirm lead times and availability with suppliers and manufacturers.
2. Coordination with Project and Site Teams
- Communicate with project managers, estimators, and site supervisors to confirm order requirements.
- Ensure timely delivery of materials to construction sites, avoiding project delays.
- Update job site personnel on order status, delays, or substitutions.
3. Vendor and Supplier Communication
- Liaise with construction vendors, distributors, and subcontractors for pricing and availability.
- Follow up on deliveries, backorders, and shipping logistics.
- Negotiate terms and ensure compliance with purchase agreements.
4. Inventory and Delivery Oversight
- Monitor stock levels of frequently used materials such as concrete, rebar, lumber, or electrical supplies.
- Coordinate with warehouse and logistics teams to ensure correct packaging and loading for job site deliveries.
- Track delivery schedules and ensure documentation like bills of lading and packing slips are accurate.
5. Administrative Support and Documentation
- Maintain accurate records of all orders, invoices, and shipping receipts for each job or site.
- Assist in cost tracking and reporting for procurement and budgeting purposes.
- Support project teams by ensuring proper documentation for inspections or compliance checks.
6. Process Improvement and Safety Awareness
- Identify opportunities to improve procurement workflows and reduce delays or overstock.
- Ensure all ordered materials comply with safety regulations and construction standards.
- Stay updated on construction trends, material innovations, and supplier performance.
Skills and Experience
- Knowledge of construction materials, tools, and equipment
- Familiarity with construction project timelines and workflows
- Strong organization and multitasking skills
- Experience with inventory or procurement software (e.g., Procore, Sage 300, Builder trend)
- Ability to read construction drawings and specs is a plus
Working Schedule:
Monday to Saturday - 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM
