We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Payroll Assistant & Junior Accountant to support our growing finance team in Manila. In this role, you will primarily assist the Payroll Officer with day-to-day payroll tasks and help the accounting team with basic financial operations. This is an excellent opportunity to develop your skills in a supportive environment and gain exposure to both payroll and accounting processes.
Key Responsibilities
Payroll Support
- Assist in gathering, verifying, and preparing payroll-related data.
- Help maintain and update employee payroll records and documentation.
- Support the preparation of payroll reports and statutory filings (SSS, PhilHealth, Pag-IBIG, BIR).
- Assist with timesheet reviews, leave tracking, and adjustments.
- Respond to routine payroll-related employee queries under supervision.
- Undergo training to develop capability to fully prepare payroll as a backup to the Payroll Officer.
Accounting Support
- Perform basic data entry and maintain accurate financial records.
- Assist in preparing supporting schedules and documentation for month-end close.
- Perform bank reconciliations, including reconciliations for group-level accounts.
- Provide support for accounts payable and accounts receivable processes.
- Assist in organizing and maintaining financial files and documents.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accountancy, Finance, or a related field.
- 0–2 years of relevant experience in payroll and/or general accounting (fresh graduates are encouraged to apply).
- Basic understanding of Philippine payroll and tax regulations is an advantage but not required.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and general computer literacy.
- Strong sense of maturity, integrity, and professionalism, especially when handling sensitive and confidential payroll information.
- Strong attention to detail and high degree of accuracy.
- Good organizational and time management skills.
- Willingness to learn and support a collaborative team environment.
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
