SUMMARY:

Today, AGCI empowers local leaders across 10 countries to intervene for the 8 million children living in institutions and create more paths to family and independence.
The Psychologist is responsible for implementing and conducting psychosocial support to families and children out of AGCI’s Child Advocacy Center. The Psychologist will provide counseling, assessment, and case management to children and their families to address emotional, behavioral, and psychological needs. They will work with children and families facing various challenges, including trauma and family dynamics. They will utilize various therapeutic techniques to help caregivers build resiliency.

Position requires the successful completion of an extensive criminal background check.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Development:
- Conducts clinical interviews and provides counseling by leading family or individual sessions.
- Performs family and individual intervention and treatment planning.
- Facilitates group sessions and orientations on various topic related to mental health.
- Conducts consultative services to families and children.
- Conducts resource referral to in-country affiliates if needed.
- Assists in fostering ethical and professional relationships, on behalf of AGCI, with key legal representatives, child welfare agencies and local non-profit organizations in the Philippines.
- Provides psychosocial support to different clientele groups, such as children, families, caregivers, and child welfare professionals.
- Develops service plans and provides case management, including conducting individual and family assessments, case plan development and implementation, resource referrals, and client advocacy.
- Assists in advising AGCI in the strategic development of new partnerships and relationships in the Philippines.
Operational:
- Communicates daily with AGCI head office, via zoom, email, Microsoft teams, phone calls or any other necessary means as directed by the AGCI Asia & Europe Programs Director.
- Contributes, as needed, to the development of AGCI marketing materials to support the expansion of AGCI’s work in the Philippines.
- May travel domestically in the Philippines to represent AGCI at local or national gatherings or events, or with prospective local partners. Duties may include completing travel expense reports and travel bookings.
- Provides support for AGCI travel to the Philippines including co-creating trip agendas, updating AGCI staff on travel safety concerns, arranging hotel bookings, organizing local transportation and any other necessary administrative tasks associated with travel.
General:
- Displays excellent bi-lingual communication skills (Tagalog & English) including writing, presentations, and listening abilities; displays excellent ability to remain calm and courteous under pressure.
- Maintains punctual, regular, and predictable attendance; has the ability to work mornings, evenings and weekends, as required.
- Attends and participates in meetings and trainings as required.
- Works collaboratively in a team environment with a spirit of cooperation and remains open to all levels of work and support for the organization.
- Other duties, as assigned.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
- Licensed Psychologist with a minimum of 2 years related experience in family and child welfare; NGO experience preferred
- On-the job training, including training in Trust Based Relational Intervention (TBRI®), will be made available based on the need and experience of the individual.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business correspondence, reports and inquiries.
- Ability to write error-free business correspondence, reports and presentation materials in Tagalog and English.
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from supervisors, donors/sponsors, clients, vendors, organization partners, and the general public.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Calculates currency conversion, discounts and interest, when needed.
COMPUTER SKILLS:
- Job requires advanced basic computer skills including logging on to systems, word processing, spreadsheet, report writing, use of internet and communication by e-mail.
- Will be required to learn and excel in the use of Microsoft 365.
REASONING ABILITY:
- Ability to work with and protect extremely confidential files and information and have the appropriate discernment regarding handling issues of varying complexity and sensitivity.
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions and can deal with a variety of abstract and concrete variables. Has the discretion to weigh the levity of an issue and pass along to the appropriate leader within the organization, as needed.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
- Licensed Psychologist.
- Must possess the necessary identification documents to reside and work in the Philippines and pass a criminal background check and child abuse clearance in the Philippines.
LOCATION:
- This is an on-site position at AGCI’s Child Advocacy Center in Pasig City.
