Job Summary
The Raw Material Purchaser is responsible for ensuring the timely availability of raw materials required for production. This role involves planning material requirements, monitoring inventory, purchasing, and coordinating with suppliers to support smooth manufacturing operations.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Monitor raw material requirements based on production schedules.
- Source, evaluate, and negotiate with suppliers of fabrics, leather, soles, threads, and other components.
- Maintain inventory levels to avoid shortages or overstocking.
- Ensure quality, cost efficiency, and timely delivery of raw materials.
- Coordinate with Production, Warehouse, and Purchasing teams to align material needs.
- Prepare and maintain accurate records of purchases, deliveries, and material planning reports.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Industrial Engineering, or related field.
- Experience in material purchasing (footwear/apparel industry is a plus).
- Strong analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
- Proficient in MS Office and inventory/purchasing systems.
- Organized, detail-oriented, and able to work under pressure.
