Why does this role exist?
This role exists to ensure the highest editorial standards across all client content before publication—maintaining clarity, accuracy, engagement, and brand voice consistency. The Copy Editor will serve as the final quality control checkpoint, fact-checking and optimizing content for SEO while collaborating closely with writers and editors. This position is critical to sustaining the integrity and impact of content distributed across websites, newsletters, and social channels.
The Impact you’ll make
Content Quality Assurance- Edit and proofread all content for grammar, style, accuracy, and consistency with brand voice.
- Fact-check articles, quotes, statistics, and claims to verify editorial integrity.
- Flag potential legal or ethical issues in content prior to publication.
SEO and Optimization
- Optimize headlines, subheads, and meta descriptions for clarity and SEO performance.
- Assist with content optimization based on performance analytics.
Collaboration and Feedback
- Work closely with writers and editors to refine content structure and flow.
- Provide constructive feedback to writers on recurring issues or areas for improvement.
Style Guide and Standards Maintenance
- Maintain and enforce style guide standards across all published materials.
- Track and maintain editorial standards documentation.
Multi-Channel Content Review
- Review and edit newsletter content, social media posts, and website copy.
- Coordinate with the editorial team on content scheduling and publication deadlines.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
Required:- Minimum 3 years of copy editing experience, preferably in digital media or B2B publishing.
- Exceptional command of AP style, grammar, and editorial best practices.
- Strong fact-checking and research skills.
- Experience with content management systems and editorial workflows.
- Familiarity with SEO principles and digital content optimization.
- WFH Set-Up:
- Computer with at least 8GB RAM, an Intel i5 core processor/AMD Ryzen 5 Processor and up.
- Internet speed of at least 40MBPS
- Headset with an extended mic that has noise cancellation and a webcam
- Back-up computer and internet connection
- Quiet, dedicated workspace at home
- Technical: Expertise in AP style, fact-checking, SEO optimization, content management tools, and digital publishing platforms.
- Soft Skills: Detail-oriented, excellent communication, collaborative mindset, adaptability under deadlines, and strong organizational skills.
- You are a highly organized and independent self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced editorial environment.

Work Setup:
- Remote position
- Must have a reliable internet connection and a quiet workspace
- Required to provide own computer with Intel Core i5 or something similar or higher operating system
- Monday to Friday, 4 AM to 8 AM Pacific Time
- $6 per hour
