Organizational Setting and Reporting Relationship
Three positions in the Economic Research and Development Impact Department (ERDI) will be filled from this advertisement and all will be based at our Headquarters in Manila, Philippines.
- Senior Operations Assistant to be assigned to the Data Division (ERDD)
- Operations Assistant to be assigned to the Regional Cooperation and Integration Division (ERCI)
- Operations Assistant to be assigned to the Macroeconomics Research Division (ERMR)
You will report to the designated International Staff and Officer (as applicable).
Your Role
As (Senior) Operations Assistant, you will provide technical, operational, and analytical support to two or more ERDD teams; collect and consolidate information for analytical purposes; assist in preparing presentation materials; prepare technical assistance (TA) concept notes and papers; implement technical assistance and manage daily operations of the teams, and coordinate Division's knowledge events and publications.
You will:·
- Provide support in TA administration including regular monitoring of TA budgets and contracts; process TA study outputs for publication; and help prepare draft TA completion reports.
- Handle processes on consultant recruitment and management at senior level for ERDD.
- Support division organized knowledge events through coordination and logistical support, liaising with cooperating agencies and other ADB departments/offices, preparing correspondences, budget, engagement of resource persons, dissemination activities, drafting of briefing notes, fulfilling communications-related requirements, and related tasks.
- Participate in missions, and compile and prepare presentation materials as required for speeches and workshops.
- Collect, and compile relevant information and data related to the division's research outputs and knowledge products and produce regular and/or ad hoc reports/summaries as instructed.
- Assist supervisors on business travel arrangements and their participation in various meetings, knowledge events, policy forums by coordinating the meeting schedules/appointments, preparing the summaries and review of the meetings, and providing timely reminders.
- Perform other duties as may be assigned and reflected in your workplan.
Qualifications
You will need:
- Bachelor's degree in business administration, social science, or other related fields.
- At least 5 years of relevant professional experience.
- Advanced computer skills on common word-processing, spreadsheets and graphics software used in multilateral organizations.
- Excellent project and time management skills
- Able to work with individuals from different cultural/national backgrounds
- Understanding of the role and function of the division/department and the organization's purpose.
- Written and verbal proficiency in English.

Additional Information
This appointment is open to internal and external applicants.
This is a fixed-term appointment for an initial fixed period of 3 years. At the end of the initial period, this appointment may, at the option of ADB, be extended once for up to 2 years, converted to a regular appointment, or ended on its expiration date. This decision will be made in the overall interest of ADB that: (a) it will require Staff's particular blend of skills and experience in the foreseeable future; and (b) Staff's performance is satisfactory and they are suitable for further employment.
