Note: This position will be directly hired by the student's parents.
- Degree in Education/Elementary Education, Special Education, Psychology, or a related field.
- Preferably with teaching license
- Experience working with students with special needs in a general education setting.
- Understanding of childhood development, behavior management and learning strategies.
- Familiarity with Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) and ability to follow support strategies outlined by the classroom teacher and SEN teacher.
- Ability to assist students in classroom instructions, task completion while encouraging independence, behavior management, socialization skills and emotional regulation.
- Adapt classroom activities to suit the student’s learning style and pace.
- Monitor and document the student’s daily progress and challenges.
- Communicate regularly with the classroom teacher, SEN teacher and parents.
- Patient, empathetic, and nurturing approach.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Proactive, observant, and flexible in dynamic classroom situations.
- Able to maintain confidentiality and work as part of a collaborative team.
