Job Description
The Tax team is a dynamic group of Software Engineers and Business Analysts located across multiple development centers. We operate with an agile approach, collaborating closely with the Product Owner and related teams to develop and enhance tax-related functionalities. Our team focuses on delivering efficient, compliant, and innovative tax solutions for clients in the Switzerland and Liechtenstein (CH&FL) region. Currently, we’re engaged in initiatives to streamline and optimize tax reporting, compliance processes, and data management to support a high-profile Swiss financial institution.
We work directly with customers and partners to design and implement tax solutions that respond to evolving regulatory requirements and market demands. Our team contributes to projects involving Swiss, European, and global tax regulations, positioning us as trusted Avaloq experts in the tax domain.
Your Key Tasks:
- Collaborate Proactively: Work closely with the Team Lead, Product Owner, Business Analysts, and fellow Software Engineers to align on development goals and processes.
- Solution Design & Review: Write solution designs for new tax functionalities, and review these designs with technical leads and architects to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Client Workshops & Requirements Analysis: Participate in client workshops, supporting business analysts in gathering and analyzing tax requirements.
- Develop & Maintain Tax Solutions: Design, develop, and sustain robust solutions within the team’s tax-focused responsibilities, ensuring they meet high standards for accuracy and efficiency.
- Optimize Existing Functionalities: Continually improve and optimize existing tax-related functionalities to adapt to changing regulatory needs.
- Quality Assurance: Develop and maintain automated tests, ensuring quality standards are met across tax-related functionalities.
- Ownership & Responsibility: Take full ownership of your area of expertise, driving progress and accountability.
- Agile Processes & Tools: Operate with an agile mindset, using platforms like Jira for process tracking and issue management.
Qualifications
- Proven Software Development Experience: Strong track record of relevant software development experience.
- Database Expertise: Proficient knowledge of database technologies, including SQL and Oracle PL/SQL.
- Programming Skills: Familiarity with Java programming. Experience with Python, C++, or similar languages is a plus.
- Business Understanding: Eagerness to understand tax-related business needs, aiming to deliver clear, high-quality code and design.
- Analytical Skills: Strong analytical mindset with a structured, autonomous approach to complex technical and regulatory problems.
It would be a real bonus if you have
- Financial or Tax Industry Experience: Familiarity with financial or tax compliance topics, especially in a Swiss or European context.
- Experience with Avaloq: Knowledge of Avaloq or other Tax/Finance IT platforms (e.g., Master Finance, Kondor +).
- Language Skills: Proficiency in German or French or Italian is advantageous.
