Key Responsibilities:
Purpose of Position
This role directly reports to the Staff and Leadership Development Manager and supports spiritual nurture initiatives, performance management, and staff well-being within WVDF. The role is responsible for designing and implementing spiritual nurture programs and activities for staff and leaders, ensuring their alignment with WVDF’s values and strategic direction.
Though the position does not have direct reports, the Staff Wellbeing Officer will be tasked with leading learning interventions, which require strong collaboration across departments and the ability to manage ad hoc project teams.
Additionally, the role promotes WORKDAY as the primary tool for performance management, providing coaching and support to staff and leaders to effectively utilize the system in fostering a culture of accountability, continuous growth, and professional development. The role also includes coaching and guidance in staff well-being management, ensuring that employees receive the necessary support to maintain holistic well-being, resilience, and engagement in their roles.
Key responsibilities include engaging with staff, facilitating spiritual formation, and modeling a Christ-centered lifestyle that inspires passion, integrity, and maturity. Through intentional spiritual nurture efforts, structured performance management support, and well-being coaching, this position contributes to WVDF’s Vision, Mission, Core Values, and Our Promise 2030, ensuring that staff are holistically equipped to fulfill their roles and maximize their impact.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
- Design and implement spiritual nurture activities, ensuring alignment with WVDF’s Vision, Mission, Core Values, and Our Promise 2030.
- Facilitate spiritual nurture programs that encourage spiritual growth among staff and partners.
- Coordinate with different departments to integrate spiritual formation efforts across teams.
- Encourage and support staff participation in spiritual nurture activities
- Support the integration of Christ-centered values into organizational initiatives.
- Provide capacity-building and training to enhance staff understanding of Christian Witness.
- Provide individual and or group coaching sessions focusing on performance, resilience, and work-life balance in close coordination with P&C Business Partners
- Lead a Staff Wellbeing Team in terms of developing and implementing staff well-being initiatives, addressing issues that include but are not limited to emotional, spiritual, and professional development needs.
- Collaborate with Field Office leadership to integrate well-being strategies into daily operations.
- Promote and support WORKDAY adoption across teams, ensuring proper utilization for goal setting and performance tracking.
- In partnership with the SLD Manager, provide coaching and training to staff and leaders on performance management best practices.
- In partnership with the SLD Manager, assist leadership in promoting a culture of accountability and development through structured performance conversation
- Track engagement metrics and participation trends for spiritual and well-being programs.
- Conduct regular evaluations and feedback collection for program effectiveness.
- Recommend enhancements and new strategies based on data insights and staff needs.
- Develops and implements a personal development plan aligned with the competencies required to effectively support spiritual nurture initiatives, performance management coaching, and staff well-being programs.
- Engages in coaching and mentoring with a network of leaders, including the direct supervisor, to enhance skills in spiritual formation facilitation, performance management systems (e.g., WORKDAY), and well-being support strategies.
- Documents key learnings and processes from spiritual nurture activities, performance coaching sessions, and well-being initiatives to improve efficiency and best practices.
- Provides regular updates to the Staff and Leadership Development Manager regarding progress, insights, and areas for improvement in staff spiritual formation, performance management engagement, and well-being efforts.
- Lead or assist in special projects, events, and initiatives that align with the organization’s mission and priorities.
- Lead or provide support in cross-functional collaborations within WVDF as needed.
- Take on additional administrative, coordination, and facilitation tasks as requested by the Staff & Leadership Manager or the P&C Director.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Human Resource Management, Theology, Social Work, Organizational Development, Counselling, or a related field.
- A Master’s degree in a relevant field is an advantage.
- At least 3-5 years of experience in staff wellbeing, employee engagement, organizational development, or a related field, preferably within an NGO, corporate, or academic setting.
- Experience in designing, developing, and implementing wellbeing programs, with a focus on spiritual nurture, mental health support, and performance management.
- Strong understanding of holistic staff development, integrating faith-based initiatives with professional growth and workplace performance.
- Strong facilitation and coaching skills, with a compassionate and solution-oriented approach.
- Passion for supporting employee growth, wellbeing, and faith integration in the workplace.
- Ability to handle sensitive staff concerns with discretion and professionalism.
