We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Mandarin Translator to join our dynamic remote team. Beyond core translation duties, this role is crucial for facilitating seamless communication and understanding with our Chinese-speaking clients and partners, ensuring cultural appropriateness and precision across all interactions and materials.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
- Accurately translate contracts and various other business documents from English to Mandarin and Mandarin to English.
- Serve as a key linguistic bridge by providing real-time communication support during live calls, video conferences, and virtual meetings, performing simultaneous or consecutive translation as needed.
- Handle written correspondence by accurately translating emails, chat messages, and other digital communications between English-speaking teams and Chinese clients or partners.
- Translate diverse content, including reports, presentations, marketing materials, and internal communications, ensuring both linguistic accuracy and cultural appropriateness for Mandarin-speaking audiences.
- Edit and proofread all translated content rigorously for grammar, syntax, style, and cultural nuances.
- Act as a cultural liaison, helping to navigate cultural nuances in communication and business practices to foster stronger relationships and prevent misunderstandings with Chinese clients.
- Support other ad-hoc translation or linguistic tasks as required to meet evolving business needs.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must possess native-level fluency in both Mandarin Chinese and English (reading, writing, speaking, and listening) to ensure accurate and nuanced translation and interpretation.
- Proven experience in professional translation of diverse content types, including legal documents/contracts, business correspondence, and marketing materials.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with a strong ability to convey messages clearly and effectively across language barriers.
- In-depth familiarity with Mandarin-speaking cultural norms, business etiquette, and sensitivities.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple translation projects simultaneously and consistently meet deadlines.
- High attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality, precise, and culturally appropriate translations.
- Proficiency in relevant translation software or tools is a plus.
