Responsibilities
- Verifying insurance eligibility and benefits for new patients
- Making calls to insurance companies for claim status, denials, reconsiderations and appeals
- Posting payments from insurance company ERAs into claims in our billing system. Posting payments from patients into their charts.
- Pull and complete company AR report to review with management on the status of each account outstanding over 30 days
- Calling patients to explain patient balances, reasons for denials or other billing inquiry follow up
Skill Requirements
- Experience in billing or full revenue cycle management
- Knowledge about Insurance Verification and Prior Authorization
- Familiarity with posting insurance payments to claims in billing software
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently
- Understanding of medical office workflows and EMR systems.
- Prior experience with patient collections and excellent customer service
