Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the preparation of accurate and timely financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow reports.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards (e.g., GAAP, IFRS) and regulatory requirements.
- Monitor and analyze financial performance, providing insights to senior management.
- Supervise and mentor the accounting team, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
- Delegate tasks effectively, ensuring all deadlines are met.
- Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide training opportunities.
- Develop and manage the company’s annual budget in collaboration with department heads.
- Prepare financial forecasts to guide business planning and decision-making.
- Monitor budget adherence and address variances proactively.
- Coordinate and manage internal and external audits.
- Maintain proper documentation and internal controls to ensure data integrity and compliance with tax regulations and other statutory requirements.
- Stay updated on changes in financial regulations and implement necessary adjustments.
- Oversee the management of accounts payable and receivable to ensure efficient cash flow.
- Review and approve vendor payments, reconciliations, and customer invoicing processes.
- Evaluate and enhance accounting systems, policies, and procedures to improve efficiency.
- Implement and maintain accounting software and tools as needed.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- Experience: Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in accounting, with at least 2-3 years in a leadership role.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and tax regulations.
- Proficiency in accounting software and advanced Excel skills.
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational abilities.
