PURPOSE AND SCOPE OF THE POSITION
The Air Conditioning (“Aircon”) Technician / Electrician under direction of the Building Maintenance Supervisor and the Pollution Control Officer / Safety Officer and is in charge of identification of repair or replacement needs, installation, operation and maintenance of air conditioning units. He also performs a variety of tasks such as electrical and other general maintenance tasks and is responsible for the improvement of the facility and the prevention of losses due to poor maintenance.
RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Monitors and performs routine checks of air conditioning units.
2. Carries out preventive maintenance of air conditioning units and performs regular cleaning of the same.
3. Assists during repairs of damaged air conditioning units.
4. Monitors and checks electrical supply and electrical requirements of the whole building.
5. Repairs damaged electrical equipment and replaces busted lights and bulbs.
6. Prepares reports, requisition slips of supplies as required by the job.
7. Checks the generator on a weekly basis for preventive maintenance.
8. Lays out and rewires electrical, telephone and computer wires.
9. Performs preliminary trouble shooting of service requirements.
10. Maintains appropriate service and repair records.
11. Assists in the troubleshooting, repair and maintenance of electrical distribution systems.
12. Assists in the writing of specifications for repairs and new constructions.
13. Performs safety checks throughout the facility to ensure a safe and clean environment and eliminate all hazards.
14. May recommend purchases and cost-saving measures and assist with the development of the budget; responsible for inventory control.
15. Gives assistance to other areas as needed.
16. Responds to routine and emergency calls for repairs and service.
17. Informs the Head of Maintenance of any maintenance issues.
18. Reviews and recommends all requisitions made for any project / repairs before submitting the same to HRAD Manager.
19. Participates in various Kaizen activities and 5S Programs.
20. Practices and promotes the 7 Core Values.
21. Perform other tasks as may be assigned from time to time.
