Job Summary
The Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Technician is responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing refrigeration and air conditioning systems. This role ensures that all systems operate efficiently and comply with safety and environmental regulations.
Key Responsibilities
· Installation: Install new refrigeration and air conditioning systems, including components such as compressors, condensers, evaporators, and fan motors.
· Maintenance and Repair: Conduct routine maintenance and repairs on existing systems, diagnosing issues and replacing faulty components as needed.
· Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve problems with system performance, including electrical and mechanical faults.
· System Testing: Test systems after installation or repair to ensure proper operation and efficiency.
· Compliance: Ensure all work complies with local safety standards and environmental regulations.
· Documentation: Maintain accurate records of work performed, including service logs and maintenance schedules.
· Customer Service: Provide excellent customer service, explaining system issues and solutions to clients in a clear and professional manner.
Qualifications
· Education: High school diploma or equivalent; technical training in refrigeration and air conditioning preferred.
· Experience: At least 2 to 3 years of experience in refrigeration and air conditioning installation and maintenance.
· Licenses/Certifications: Relevant certifications in refrigeration and air conditioning systems; EPA Section 608 Certification or equivalent.
· Skills: Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills; proficiency in using hand and power tools; knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems.
· Physical Requirements: Ability to lift heavy equipment, work in confined spaces, and perform tasks that require physical stamina.
· Communication: Good verbal and written communication skills; ability to interact effectively with clients and team members.
Working Conditions:
- Full-time / Part-time teaching load
- Work location: MFI Polytechnic Institute Inc. campus Ortigas
- May require occasional participation in seminars, workshops, and industry immersion programs
