PURPOSE:
This position exists in order to:
- Manage the cleanliness, upkeep, safety and presentation of the serviced residence in accordance with company standards, legislation and regulations.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Financial & Stock Management
- Prepares and adheres to departmental budget/s.
- Achieves financials goals as set and agreed to.
- Ensures the maintenance of stock to par level. Including: cleaning maintenance products, linen, apartment supplies, equipment, and stationery.
- Ensures purchases are in accordance within defined budget requirements.
Reporting
- Completes required reports in appropriate format and within set timeframes.
Asset Management & Development
- Manages the preventative and curative monitoring of the operation of the Residence’s equipment and materials.
Safety & Security
- Ensures compliance with all safety and security requirements.
- Monitors and ensures the safety training and awareness for all the staff of his/her team
- Manages emergencies situations, ensuring the safe protection of customers, staff and the business.
Operational Excellence
- Plans objectives and establish responsibilities and procedures for attaining objectives.
- Monitors department to ensure service standards are within Ascott standards.
- Works with all departmental heads ensuring cohesive, dependable and efficient service delivery.
- Ensures the adherence to a continuous effective quality audit system, including efficient customer feedback processes.
- Initiates corrective process where required.
Internal / External Relations & Communication
- Represents the Ascott Group in a professional manner in all contexts, ensuring positive relationships are developed and maintained with all relevant external parties, including regulatory bodies and suppliers, where applicable.
- Works with all departments to achieve levels of service quality that meet the expectations of guests and Ascott standards
- Conducts meetings and briefings for the department, ensuring effective and efficient communication processes.
Human Resource Management and Leadership
- Ensures strategies and practices are in line with corporate targets and guide lines to facilitate the effective staffing of departments, so that financial and service quality targets are achieved.
- Participate in the recruitment, development and discipline of staff.
- Manages and conducts The Ascott performance appraisal process for subordinates.
- Identifies, implement and monitor relevant development programmes ensuring transfer of knowledge into the workplace.
- Ensures delivery of required Ascott skills and development programmes, including and not limited to: Orientation; Skills development; Customer Service programmes.
- Identifies and develops talent, ensuring a succession plan for self and subordinates.
- Facilitates and champion the Ascott goals, behaviors and philosophies.
- Ensures compliance with all corporate and local human resource regulatory requirements.
Sales & Marketing
- Leads by example in developing professional relationship with customers.
- Manages complaints to the satisfaction of the customer and the company,
General
- Acts as Manager On Duty as required.
- Ensures that Ascott Policies and Standards are maintained at all times, and that any corporate initiatives are implemented.
- Ensures compliance with all relevant legislation
- Works co-operatively with the corporate resources including corporate office in (cluster).
- Achieves Key Performance Indicators as set and agreed to
- Performs any additional duties or projects as directed by the Company
Authority
- Ensure compliance and implementation of authority limits outlined in the Ascott Delegation of Authority Policy Manual. Financial authority is outlined in the Ascott Financial Authorization Limits guidelines
QUALIFICATIONS
Experience Required
· At least 2 years’ experience in a similar capacity in a hotel or resort.
Education Required
· College graduate, preferably Hotel and Restaurant Management, Tourism
Technical Knowledge and Skills
· Proficientin Property Management System (Protel, Fidelio, Opera etc.)
· Excellent knowledge in Profit and Loss Management
· Knowledge in Rooms Divisions departments e.g. Housekeeping and Laundry
· Familiar with Front Office Operations
· Can operate office equipment
· Can handle a department with as many as 30 associates
· People person
· Can interact well with others
· Can make swift and sound decisions
· Can sell and up-sell hotel products and services
· Knowledgeable in Crisis Management
Physical Requirements
· Physically fit
· Willing to undergo shifting schedule and work on weekends and holidays
· Oversee all areas under HK Department and will require constant standing, bending, lifting heavy objects.
