Accountant (Australian Account experience required)
Job Description:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accountant with a strong background in Australian accounting standards and practices. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing financial records, preparing reports, ensuring compliance with Australian taxation laws, and providing accurate financial insights to support client business operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain accurate financial records and perform daily bookkeeping tasks in compliance with Australian accounting standards.
- Prepare and review Business Activity Statements (BAS) and Installment Activity Statements (IAS).
- Reconcile bank accounts, credit card statements, and intercompany transactions.
- Manage Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) processes.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
- Assist in the preparation of tax returns and ensure compliance with ATO requirements.
- Liaise with Australian clients, auditors, and tax agents as required.
- Support payroll processing and ensure compliance with Australian Fair Work regulations and Superannuation obligations.
- Use accounting software such as Xero, MYOB, and QuickBooks.
- Stay updated with Australian tax regulations and changes in financial compliance.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Minimum of 2–3 years’ experience handling Australian accounts (required).
- Strong knowledge of Australian Accounting Standards and taxation rules.
- Experience with Australian tax compliance, including BAS, IAS, GST, and PAYG.
- Proficiency in accounting software such as Xero, MYOB, or QuickBooks.
- High attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple client accounts.
- Experience working in an outsourcing or BPO environment (advantageous).
- Can start immediately.
- Amenable to work onsite.
