Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor/Superintendent, the Auto Electrician is accountable and responsible for the installation, trouble shooting, repair and maintenance of all light and heavy equipment electrical system and components. Schedules and implement preventive maintenance on the electrical component of light and heavy equipment.
Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Conduct trouble shooting and repair of basic electrical parts and system of all light and heavy equipment including batteries.
2. Perform dismantling and installation of electrical parts and components including electrical wiring.
3. Perform wiring harness, check condition of starter and alternator as required during trouble shooting.
4. Conduct inspection of batteries, battery charging, appropriate battery size and specification as required by the equipment to be installed and recommend battery replacement.
5. Conduct workshop and field services for the equipment electrical problem on site as required in coordination with the H.E. Coordinator and immediate superior.
6. Conduct and implement preventive and corrective maintenance of equipment electrical components.
7. Conduct teardown and parts survey of equipment electrical components and initiate parts requisition in coordination with the Maintenance Planner.
8. Refer to Manufacturer’s Operation and Maintenance Manual on recommended electrical parts and components, recommend parts reusability or equivalent replacement.
9. Perform actual test on electrical repair done and advised immediate superior on repair status.
10. Read and interpret electrical schematic diagram as reference during electrical repair execution.
11. Perform other related duties as assigned by the immediate superior from time to time.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
1. High school or Vocational/Technical course graduate in auto/industrial electricity would be an advantage.
2. At least three (3) years’ experience in heavy equipment as Auto Electrician from related industry.
3. NC II Certification from TESDA as Auto Electrician desirable.
4. Can work independently with less supervision under time pressure.
