JOB SUMMARY
A Dump Truck Driver is responsible for the safe and efficient transportation of loose materials (e.g., dirt, gravel, sand) between job sites, disposal areas, and suppliers. This role involves operating heavy vehicles, performing safety inspections, maintaining records, and ensuring compliance with traffic and workplace regulations.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Operate dump trucks to pick up, haul, and dump materials at designated locations
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections, checking oil, brakes, tires, lights, and safety systems
- Assist with loading/unloading materials when required and ensure proper weight distribution and securement
- Keep detailed logs of deliveries, mileage, fuel use, and maintenance activities
- Communicate clearly with supervisors, and team members to coordinate schedules and address issues
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the truck and store tools and documents safely
- Adhere to safety standards, traffic laws, and DOT or local transport regulations
QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid Driver’s License
- Vocational Certification in Dump Truck Driving
- Clean driving record and proven experience driving dump or similar heavy trucks
- Basic mechanical knowledge and ability to perform minor preventive maintenance
- Can start immediately
