Job Summary:

The Financial Business Analyst shall assist the Business Controller in reviewing the financial performance of the hotel by preparing detailed financial analysis, reviewing strategic planning, and budgeting support. He/She willing also review the strategies to improve business performance, operational efficiency, and guest experience within the hotel.

This role involves reviewing key financial metrics, revenue and expenses, sharing insights on opportunities for cost-saving.

Key Responsibilities:

Finance and Budget:

- Review the annual budget for the hotel, ensuring alignment with overall business objectives and strategic goals.

- Review detailed financial forecasts and reports, analyzing variances between actual and budgeted results.

- Collaborate with department heads to share insights and departmental budgets.

Financial Analysis:

- Conduct regular financial analysis of the hotel’s performance, identifying trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement.

- Provide insights on revenue management, cost control, and profitability, helping management make informed decisions.

- Review cost-benefit analysis for capital expenditures, renovation projects, and new initiatives.

Cash Flow and Profitability:

- Reviewing reports on the hotel’s cash flow, ensuring that sufficient liquidity is maintained for daily operations.

- Review and share insights to improve profitability, including optimizing revenue streams and controlling expenses.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) Tracking:

- Review reports on key financial and operational KPIs, including occupancy rates, average daily rate (ADR), revenue per available room (RevPAR), and operating margins.

- Review monthly, quarterly, and annual reports on financial performance

Technology Integration:

- Share insights on new technologies that can improve operational efficiency, guest experience, and revenue generation.

- Reviews that the hotel's management systems (e.g., Property Management System, Point of Sale systems and other systems) are optimized for performance.

Guest Experience Enhancement:

- Review initiatives that enhance the guest experience, from the booking process to post- departure interactions.

- Reviews guest feedback and work to integrate suggestions into the hotel's transformation strategy.

Process Optimization:

- Conduct audits and assessments of existing operational processes to identify inefficiencies and recommend improvements.

- Share best practices to optimize workflows and streamline hotel operations, with a focus on revenue management, guest services, and back-office functions.

Cost Control and Efficiency:

- Review reports on cost reduction or process improvements without compromising service quality.

- Review strategies to optimize the hotel’s opera>onal efficiency while maintaining or enhancing service quality.

Financial Reporting and Compliance:

- Monitor the timely and accurate preparation of financial statements, adhering to all accounting standards and internal controls.

- Monitor annual external audits and compliance with tax regulations and financial reporting requirements.

- Share insights on business transformation strategies that align with the hotel’s long-term goals

- Share market trends and competitive positioning to ensure the hotel remains innovative and competitive.

Skills and Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, (CPA preferred).

- Proven experience in financial analysis, planning, and budge>ng, preferably within the hospitality industry.

- Strong knowledge of financial reporting, accounting principles, and budgeting techniques.

- Experience with hotel financial systems, property management systems (PMS), and other relevant financial tools (e.g., Excel, accounting software).

- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

- Strong attention to detail and ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines.

- Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams

- Strong business acumen.

Work Environment:

- The position shall require reporting at the Company’s place of business located at Discovery Samal, Island Garden City of Samal, Davao del Norte. Occasional travel for meetings may likewise be required.

- Standard office hours with potential for extended hours during budget cycles, year-end closing, or major projects.
