Key Responsibilities:
- Surface Preparation: Preparing surfaces by washing, sanding, or grinding to remove dirt, grease, and old paint to ensure proper adhesion of the coating.
- Application of Coatings: Applying various finishes, including varnish, lacquer, and enamel, to wooden furniture, architectural elements, metal products, vehicles, and other manufactured items using brushes, rollers, or spray guns.
- Finishing: Polishing and waxing surfaces after applying varnish to achieve the desired aesthetic and protective quality.
- Maintenance: Cleaning and maintaining application equipment, such as spray painting machines, and ensuring the proper use and care of materials.
- Minor Repairs: Making minor repairs to furniture and other wooden items before or after finishing.
- Quality Control: Inspecting painted or varnished surfaces to ensure they meet quality standards.
Work Environments:
- Manufacturing: Working on production lines for manufactured items like vehicles or furniture.
- Ship Maintenance: On cruise lines or vessels, responsible for maintaining and refinishing wooden components in guest and crew areas.
