Job Description
Job Summary:
The General Accounting Manager is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the accounting department, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting, maintaining internal controls, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and company policies. This role leads a team of accountants and works closely with other departments to support strategic financial planning and decision-making.
Key Responsibilities:
Supervise and manage daily accounting operations including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, fixed assets, and bank reconciliations.
Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP or IFRS.
Lead the month-end and year-end closing processes.
Ensure compliance with local tax laws, regulations, and reporting requirements.
Manage audits and liaise with external auditors and regulatory bodies.
Develop and implement accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.
Analyze financial data and provide reports to senior management.
Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
Oversee staff performance, training, and development within the accounting team.
Identify process improvements and automation opportunities to enhance efficiency.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accountancy, Finance, or related field (CPA preferred).
At least 5–7 years of progressive accounting experience, with 2+ years in a managerial or supervisory role.
Strong knowledge of accounting principles, tax laws, and financial reporting standards.
Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks) and MS Excel.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
Strong attention to detail and ability to meet tight deadlines.
Leadership and team management skills.
High level of integrity and confidentiality.
