Our client, Precision Design Solutions, LLC is currently is seeking a detail-oriented and tech-savvy GIS Technician to bring precision and innovation to their mapping and spatial data projects. Job Summary: Under general supervision, the GIS Technician is responsible for collecting, organizing, and maintaining the accuracy of geospatial data using GIS software.
Duties and Responsibilities:
● Reviews and interprets data sources and uses basic GIS software functions to enter, edit, and update GIS spatial and attribute data into databases or layers, following standard procedures.
● Interprets and transforms external data to fit internal database formatting and requirements.
● Defines GIS product needs per request, works with supervisor or requestor to ensure
compliance with identified need.
● Maintain GIS databases and metadata to ensure data accuracy, completeness, and accessibility.
● Develops and maintains links between various databases.
● Participate in quality assurance and quality control activities to ensure accuracy, completeness, and consistency of GIS data and deliverables.
● Provides user training in the use of GIS software and/or manuals; coordinates and schedules training classes; develops, maintains, verifies, and updates operational procedures and documentation.
● Stay up-to-date with the latest GIS technology, software, and trends in the industry and share this knowledge with team members and stakeholders.
● Performs other duties of a similar nature or level.
Qualifications and Requirements:
● Associate's degree and two years of geographic information systems support experience; or, an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above.
● Highly skilled in development of databases and deploying map services.
● Proficient in 3GIS, AGOL, QGIS, ARC, ESRI or other GIS based software.
● Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
● Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
● Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
● Ability to troubleshoot complex problems
● Communicate technical information to a non-technical audience
● Knowledge OSP design, with a focus on fiber optic and copper networks is a plus.
● Experience with Python, SQL, PostGIS, or JavaScript is a plus.

Pay: Up to Php78,000.00 per month
