The position is responsible for leading, planning, supervision and implementation of preventive and corrective maintenance of plant instrumentations and control of equipment and devices and related auxiliaries to ensure safe, reliable and economical operation of the generating unit and related auxiliaries.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Regular:
Shall include but are not limited to:
1. Supervises the implementation of preventive maintenance, calibration, monitoring and testing of plant equipment instrumentation and controls to ensure safe, reliable and economical operation of the plant.
2. Supervises the repair and troubleshooting of Control and Instrumentation by:
- Reviewing and evaluating fault diagnosis on all Control and Instrumentation systems.
- Supervising the implementation of corrective maintenance work orders, preventive maintenance work orders and job orders
3. Ensures Control and Instrumentation maintenance plans and targets for the team are achieved safely and economically.
4. Supervises the implementation of machinery diagnostics and troubleshooting of plant abnormalities.
5. Evaluates results of functional test of the following:
- Boiler Interlock and Instrument Protective System
- Turbine Interlock and Instrument Protective System
- Final Process control element
- Fire Fighting Instrumentation System
6. Ensure functionality of plant DCS.
7. Schedules and conducts maintenance activities for all control and instrumentation
Occasional:
1. Plans for the availability of control and instrumentation spare parts to ensure continuing operations.
2. Use technical knowledge and maintenance history of control and instrumentation equipment to further enhance the planned maintenance program.
3. Maintains oversight over the repair of control and instrumentation, apparatus, facilities and fixtures.
4. Provide technical advice for all maintenance work.
5. Implement modification/installation of control and instrumentation and facilities that requires engineering change.
6. Provide technical advice for all maintenance work.
7. Recommends the acquisition of any and all control and instrumentation and devices. Provides the required technical specifications.
8. Performs other related tasks assigned the plant management.
JOB SPECIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in Electronics and Communication Engineering /Electrical Engineering
- Must be a Licensed Electrical Engineer/Licensed ECE
- At least 5 years in Power Plant or heavy industry control and instrumentation maintenance, 2 years in supervisory role.
- Excellent ability to analyze plant problems and identify solutions at allowable risk limits.
- Thorough knowledge of the practices, procedures and techniques essential to the maintenance of electricity generating plants.
- Troubleshooting of the equipment malfunctions and finalize short term/ long-term corrective actions.
- Able to manage conflicting & demanding priorities related to plant performance
Special Skills Required:
- Technical knowledge in Thermal Power Plant Operations and Maintenance
- Knowledge in field instruments and parts
- Good Communication skills
- Computer skills - proficient in MS Office
