We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Accountant to join our team and provide comprehensive accounting support for Australian clients. The Accountant will be responsible for managing financial records, ensuring compliance with Australian accounting standards and tax regulations, and supporting the preparation of accurate financial reports.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain accurate financial records, including general ledgers, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.
- Prepare and process BAS, IAS, and GST reconciliations in compliance with ATO requirements.
- Assist in preparing financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
- Conduct monthly, quarterly, and year-end closing activities.
- Perform bank and credit card reconciliations.
- Manage payroll processing and ensure compliance with Fair Work and superannuation obligations.
- Support external audits and liaise with auditors as required.
- Assist clients with tax compliance and reporting requirements.
- Ensure compliance with Australian accounting standards (AASB) and company policies.
- Provide financial insights and recommendations to improve efficiency and cost management.
Qualifications:
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Experience:
- Minimum of 2–3 years’ experience in accounting, preferably handling Australian accounts.
- Experience with ATO reporting, BAS/IAS preparation, GST, and payroll compliance.
- Exposure to external audits and preparation of financial reports is a plus.
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Xero, MYOB, QuickBooks, or similar).
- Strong MS Excel and data analysis skills.
- Knowledge of Australian Accounting Standards (AASB) and taxation laws.
Soft Skills:
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to liaise with clients and stakeholders.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Analytical and problem-solving mindset.
