Summary of Role
The Manager - Core Accounting Services role is responsible for overseeing and guiding a growing team of management accountants and AP clerks in Manila who support global business operations. This role ensures the accuracy, efficiency, and compliance of financial operations while also driving process improvements to improve the control environment and create a scalable efficient finance hub. Reporting to the Group Finance Controller, the Manager - Core Accounting Services will manage financial processes, drive process optimization, and collaborate closely with global finance teams. They must measure, report and drive improvement on key KPIs to deliver on quality customer service. This role requires a proactive, detail-oriented individual who can drive positive change, manage complex financial operations, and ensure high standards in financial reporting and compliance. They must be a strong communicator who are able to gain trust of senior leaders within the Group and act as key liaison.
Key Responsibilities:
Team Management
- Oversee the day-to-day activities of local accountants, ensuring efficiency and accuracy in financial operations. Responsible for quality team output and expected to take ownership of any problems or issues as they arise.
- Line manage and coach Accountants and the Accounts Payable team, focusing on professional development and performance improvement.
- Provide mentorship and structured training to enhance team skills and capabilities.
- Foster a collaborative and high-performance team culture aligned with Anthesis' values.
- Work with local and functional leadership to champion business objectives, processes, and policies with the team
Process Optimization
- Collaborate with the NetSuite team to enhance financial accounting processes, including intercompany setup and reconciliation.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with the global finance team to support robust controls and accurate financial reporting.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency, reduce financial risks, and improve reporting accuracy.
Accounting Procedures
- Manage accounting procedures and systems to ensure compliance with internal policies and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
- Ensure adherence to internal financial controls and company-wide accounting policies.
- Oversee accounts payable, intercompany transactions, and month-end closing processes.
Financial Reporting and Budgeting
- Assist in preparing monthly financial reports and forecasts, including budgets, income statements, balance sheets, tax returns, and cash flow reports.
- Support the annual budgeting process and quarterly forecasting to drive business growth.
- Ensure accurate and timely financial data for decision-making and compliance purposes.
Integration and Audit Support
- Facilitate the integration of new acquisitions into the financial reporting processes. Manage intercompany recharges for the Philippines entity to other regions.
- Assist with external audits to ensure compliance and accuracy.
- Work on ad-hoc projects such as EFT file setup, intercompany processes, fixed asset management alignment, among others
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA required
- Qualified accountant with 7+ years of relevant finance experience, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
- Strong understanding of International Financial Reporting Standards
- Experience in a multi-national company, working with key stakeholders in different regions
- Experience of managing and leading a team, including staff development Experience with Oracle NetSuite is preferred, along with other similar financial ERP systems
- Proficiency in Microsoft applications (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Word) is essential. Excellent English language written and verbal communication skills.
