We are seeking a detail-oriented and knowledgeable MSP Billing Specialist to manage and process billing in compliance with British Columbia’s Medical Services Plan (MSP) guidelines. This role is vital in ensuring accurate, timely submissions and maximizing reimbursement for medical services rendered.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare, submit, and reconcile medical claims in accordance with BC MSP billing guidelines and fee schedules.
- Review and verify patient demographics and health coverage details for accuracy.
- Identify billing errors and correct rejections or resubmissions in a timely manner.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of MSP fee codes, rules, and updates.
- Communicate with physicians, MOAs, and administrative staff to resolve discrepancies.
- Ensure proper documentation and record-keeping for audit and reporting purposes.
- Assist with patient inquiries related to billing, invoices, and insurance coverage.
- Generate monthly billing reports and assist with financial reconciliations.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience with BC MSP billing (1+ year preferred).
- Strong understanding of MSP fee schedules, billing rules, and claims procedures.
- Proficiency in EMR systems (e.g., Oscar, MedAccess, or equivalent).
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and professionalism.
- Strong communication skills (verbal and written).
- Medical Office Assistant certification or equivalent experience is an asset.
