Job Title: Payroll Administrator

About the Role:
Were looking for a detail-oriented and reliable Payroll Administrator with proven experience in Australian payroll to join our Finance team. This role plays a key part in ensuring our people and suppliers are paid accurately and on time, with full compliance to local regulations. Youll support both Payroll and Accounts Payable functions, helping us maintain smooth financial operations while delivering excellent internal service.
This position is ideal for someone who has worked within an Australian finance environment, understands the nuances of local payroll legislation, and thrives in a fast-moving, people-focused team.
Key Responsibilities:
Payroll
- Process end-to-end payroll for Australian employees, including salaries, wages, bonuses, reimbursements, and benefits.
- Review and process approved timesheets for payroll runs.
- Audit Bullhorn placements to ensure complete and accurate payroll data (Astute).
- Maintain and communicate a list of outstanding timesheet approvals for consultant follow-up.
- Respond to payroll queries with clarity and care.
- Ensure strict compliance with all Australian payroll laws, regulations, and award interpretations.
Accounts Payable
- Receive, review, and process supplier invoices in line with company policies and procedures.
- Enter and reconcile Corporate Traveller invoices and manage on-charging to clients.
- Process employee reimbursements and corresponding invoices through Xero.
- Support the entry and tracking of debit card expense claims in Xero.
- Assist the Management Accountant with reconciliation templates and supporting documentation.
Other Responsibilities
- Maintain strong working relationships within the Finance team and wider business.
- Ensure all financial processes align with internal policies and external compliance obligations.
- Take on additional tasks and finance-related projects as needed.
What Were Looking For:
- Minimum 2 years of experience in payroll processing for Australian Companies this is essential.
- Certificate or Diploma in Payroll Administration, Finance, or a related field (preferred).
- Strong understanding of and experience with Australian Modern Awards and payroll legislation.
- Familiarity with payroll and accounting software, ideally Astute and Xero.
- Background in healthcare, staffing, or recruitment sectors is an advantage.
