AU / NZ PAYROLL OFFICER
CLIENT: AUSTRALIA; REMOTE
SHIFT: DAY / MORNING PHT
TYPE: FULL TIME; INDEPENDENT CONTRACTOR
Key Responsibilities
- Payroll project
- Processing of fortnightly pays for all employees in New Zealand and Australia including:
- Updating and processing of change of details for all staff including changes of status, change of payment details, change of location in both payroll system and time and attendance system.
- Determine relevant termination calculations and process termination pay
- Terminate employees off payroll and time and attendance system and archive appropriately.
- Calculating Sick Leave, Annual Leave, LSL, Termination and ETP payments
- Payment of garnishees as required or requested
- Terminate leavers off payroll system and archive appropriately
- Employee parking and recovery
- Reporting and updating data on payroll related matters as required
- Preparation of Month End Workpapers including:
- Reconcile General Ledger Accounts
- Review the salaries and wages accounts for accuracy
- Calculate month end accruals and prepayments
- Preparation and reconciliation of payroll related payments including:
- Group Tax Calculations and payment
- Monthly Payroll Tax calculations and payment in multiple states
- Monthly superannuation payments and returns
- Filing of related paperwork
- Ensure all payroll and personnel forms are completed and chase any missing information
- Handling staff payroll queries
- Processing reports as required
- Preparing information for Workers Compensation renewals
- Other tasks as directed
Customer Service
- Ensure high standards of customer service to internal and external stakeholders
- Carry out friendly and efficient customer service at all times, ensuring the customer service is consistent
- Provide a high standard of Customer Service in dealing with customer inquiries and complaints
- Have a complete understanding of the Lagardère AWPL Travel Retail Rules and Procedures and Policies and to abide by these rules at all times

- Other statutory deadlines payroll tax, PAYG etc.
Skills, Knowledge and Experience required
- Previous Australia and New Zealand payroll experience
- Retail Award interpretation, preferably on a national level
- Electronic Payroll System experience
- Electronic Time & Attendance System experience desirable
- Affinity payroll system and UKG T&A experience desirable
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
- Sound knowledge of Excel, and Microsoft Office applications
- Highly analytical
- Attention to detail
- Strong organisational and communication skills

Home Office Requirements:
- Internet Connection : Must be 25 mbps at the least, preferably wired connection with PLDT, Cable connection is fine if it's more than 5mbps. We DO NOT accept plug-in, wi-fi or wimax.
- Computer/Laptop: The contractor must have a good working computer.
- Headsets : The Contractor must have a noise cancelling headsets preferably Plantronics Blackwire C320M headsets. Assessment will be done during test calls.
- Dedicated Home Office - Contractors are required to have a dedicated home office free from noise and distractions.
- Web Cam - for meeting purposes
- Must be comfortable in working with Time Doctor/Screenshot Monitor
