Purpose of the Position: Reporting to the Corporate Health Safety and Environment Manager or AVP-QSHE, on their behalf, the Pollution Control Officer is accountable and responsible for the preparation and implementation of Environmental programs for the project.
Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Keep abreast of Environmental Management Bureau requirements as well as of the client on pollution control
2. Safety responsibilities in performing the job in his or her area of influence
3. Attend to the necessary permit requirement of the government (EMB) before operating a facility
4. Ensure compliance of Pollution Control Facilities to government standards
5. On-time submission of Quarterly Self-Monitoring Report to EMB
6. Act as liaison officer to EMB, client, and other pollution regulating body including the local government pollution control office
7. Attend the meeting of pollution control officers from time to time called by EMB
8. Monitor the generation and disposal of used oil, batteries, and other hazardous waste
9. Keep records or documents of hazardous waste disposal, manifest form, and other related supporting documents
10. Handle other environmental concerns as required by the client and other government agencies
11. Perform other duties and responsibilities that may be required from time to time.
Qualifications, Skills, and Experience:
1. Graduate of Environmental Science and or any other related courses.
2. Fresh graduates are welcome to apply.
3. Preferably accredited PCO by EMB.
4. High level of interpersonal skills and integrity;
5. Creative, forward thinker.
6. Able to deliver effective results, meet tight deadlines and targets
7. Ability to interact with staff (at all levels) in a fast-paced environment, sometimes under pressure, remaining flexible, proactive, resourceful, and efficient.
8. Ability to multitask and work well under pressure
9. A reliable professional who follows the organization and department procedures; and completes tasks promptly
