Job Summary:
The Procurement/Purchasing Officer is responsible for managing the full procurement cycle—sourcing, negotiating, ordering, and coordinating delivery of materials and services—primarily for construction-related needs. The role requires strong procurement experience, particularly in handling suppliers, contracts, and material planning to support timely and cost-effective project execution.
Key Responsibilities:
- Handle end-to-end procurement of construction materials, equipment, and services.
- Source and evaluate reliable suppliers, ensuring product quality and price competitiveness.
- Prepare and issue request for quotations (RFQs), evaluate bids, and negotiate favorable terms.
- Generate purchase orders and ensure proper documentation in accordance with company policies.
- Coordinate closely with warehouse, engineering, and site teams to ensure accurate material forecasting and timely deliveries.
- Monitor supplier performance and maintain updated vendor records and price lists.
- Resolve issues related to delivery, quality discrepancies, or invoice disputes promptly.
- Maintain compliance with procurement guidelines, budget controls, and project timelines.
- Stay updated on market trends, pricing fluctuations, and new material alternatives.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years solid experience in procurement or purchasing, preferably within a construction company.
- Strong knowledge of construction materials, tools, and supply chain logistics.
- Excellent negotiation, planning, and communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and procurement systems/software (e.g., SAP, ERP, or similar).
- Ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
- High level of integrity, professionalism, and attention to detail.
