Job Summary

The Procurement Officer at Mikuriya Foods Corporation (MFC) is responsible for supporting the sourcing, negotiation, and procurement of food, packaging, and service supplies to ensure availability, cost-efficiency, and compliance with safety and quality standards. This role coordinates closely with Commissary, Storage, QA, Local Market and Operations teams to align purchasing with actual demand, and uses systems like Odoo to track orders and supplier performance.

Duties and Responsibilities

Sourcing and Negotiation

○ Identify and recommend suppliers of food, packaging, and related goods based on price, quality, and reliability.

○ Support negotiation of pricing and contract terms under the guidance of the Chief Supply Chain Officer.

Supplier Relationship Management

○ Build and maintain relationships with local farmers, distributors, and service vendors.

○ Assist in conducting product sampling and vendor audits in coordination with the QA and R&D teams.

Purchasing and Inventory Coordination

○ Work with Commissary, Storage, Local Market and Operations teams to forecast procurement needs aligned with menus, seasonality, and

promotions.

○ Coordinate logistics to ensure timely delivery of goods to branches and the commissary.

Compliance and Documentation

○ Ensure that all purchases comply with HACCP, FDA, and company food safety requirements.

○ Maintain accurate and updated supplier records, contracts, and price lists. ● System Monitoring and Cost Control

○ Track orders, inventory levels, and reorder points using ERP/Inventory software (e.g., Odoo, Google Sheets).

○ Conduct basic cost analysis and flag opportunities for savings or risk. ● Reporting and Performance Monitoring

○ Monitor supplier performance using KPIs like delivery accuracy, quality, and responsiveness.

○ Submit regular updates and reports to the Chief Supply Chain Officer.

Job Specifications

Education/Experience:

● Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain, Industrial Engineering, or related field preferred.

● Minimum 1–2 years relevant work experience in purchasing or procurement (restaurant/food industry preferred).

Skills and Abilities:

● Strong negotiation and communication skills.

● Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., Odoo), Microsoft Excel, and Google Sheets. ● Strong analytical and cost comparison skills.

● Good attention to detail and follow-through.

● Ability to work with cross-functional teams (Commissary, Storage, QA). ● Knowledge of HACCP, FDA, and local food safety regulations is a plus. ● Ability to multitask and manage shifting priorities in a fast-paced environment.
