JOB SUMMARY:
The Technical Lead oversees ITS’s technical team and all projects (managed services),
analyzes briefs, writes progress reports, identifies risks, and develops work schedules.
In addition to screening and training staff and delegating work assignments, technical leads may also collaborate with colleagues to identify and repair technical issues. They often evaluate their team's work processes and best practices and implement changes to streamline operations.
PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Maintain information technology strategies.
- Manage all members of a technical project team.
- Research and implement technological strategic solutions.
- Accomplish information technology staff results.
- Plan, monitor, and appraise job results.
- Coach, counsel, and discipline employees.
- Initiate, coordinate, and enforce systems, policies, and procedures.
- Maintain staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees.
- Maintain a safe and secure work environment.
- Develop personal growth opportunities.
- Maintain the organization’s effectiveness and efficiency by defining and delivering strategic plans for implementing information technologies.
- Direct technological research by studying organization goals, strategies, practices, and user projects.
- Complete projects by coordinating resources and timetables with user departments and data centers.
- Recommend information technology strategies, policies, and procedures by evaluating organization outcomes.
- Identify problems, provide solutions and evaluate trends.
- Maintain quality service by establishing and enforcing organization standards.
- Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies.
- Contribute to team efforts by accomplishing related results as needed.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, Electronics and Communications Engineering, or any equivalent course
- Relevant certifications and/or licenses, preferred
- 3-5 years of experience leading technical teams
- At least 5 years of experience with network or system administration or any related role
