The Position
Role Purpose:
The Technical Service Intern will support our service team, directly contributing to the operational excellence and reliability of Diagnostic Instruments in healthcare facilities in the Philippines. This three-month internship offers aspiring engineers a unique opportunity to gain practical, hands-on experience, bridging academic knowledge with real-world application in medical technology. By assisting our experienced service engineers with the maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of cutting-edge diagnostic instruments, the intern will help ensure accurate and timely diagnostic results for patients, ultimately supporting the critical function of healthcare in the nation.
Key Responsibilities
Assist service engineers with the installation, preventive maintenance, and corrective repair of IVD instruments.
Learn to diagnose technical issues using service manuals, schematics, and diagnostic tools.
Support in maintaining accurate service records, inventory of spare parts, and service reports.
Participate in testing and calibrating instruments to ensure optimal performance and accuracy.
Shadow service engineers on field visits to hospitals, clinics, and laboratories across Metro Manila and nearby provinces.
Help organize and maintain the service workshop and tools.
Contribute to the continuous improvement of service processes and documentation.
Adhere to all company policies, safety regulations, and quality standards.
Perform other related duties as assigned by the service team lead.
Who you are:
Currently enrolled in an undergraduate program in Engineering (e.g., Biomedical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering), or a related technical field.
Strong academic record.
Basic understanding of electronics, mechanics, and/or software troubleshooting principles.
Eagerness to learn about complex medical diagnostic equipment.
Excellent problem-solving skills and a keen eye for detail.
Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
A positive attitude, a strong work ethic, and a genuine interest in the healthcare industry.
Willingness to travel locally as required (accompanied by service engineers).
