The Vice President in Accounting at Guagua Rural Bank is responsible for leading the bank's accounting operations, financial reporting, regulatory compliance, and internal controls. The role oversees the integrity of all accounting and financial practices in alignment with regulatory standards and organizational objectives.
Key Responsibilities
1. Provides full oversight and leadership of the Bank's Accounting and Finance operations, ensuring integrity, accuracy, and timeliness of all financial records and reports
2. Prepares and presents regular reports on the Bank's financial health, position, and performance to the Board of Directors and Executive Committee
3. Ensures compliance with BSP, BIR, and other regulatory agencies' requirements, maintaining adherence to Philippine Financial Reporting Standards (PFRS) and BSP issuances
4. Oversees and monitors performance of Accounting and Finance personnel
5. Manages rediscounting applications and availments with financial institutions
6. Reviews and validates all internal and external financial reports before submission to authorities
7. Authorized to write-off obsolete Furniture, Fixtures, & Equipment
8. Leads formulation and updating of Accounting and Financial Management Policies
9. Partners in strategic planning, budgeting, and forecasting with senior management
10. Ensures robust internal controls, risk mitigation, and segregation of duties
11. Manages internal and external audits, including BSP examinations
12. Supports Capital Adequacy Ratio (CAR) and Minimum Liquidity Ratio (MLR) monitoring
13. Supports digitization and automation of accounting & finance processes
14. Contributes to Business Continuity and Recovery Plans development
15. Ensures accurate financial information for Board governance
16. Shall perform such other duties as may be prescribed by the Board of Directors and Executive Committee.
Qualifications
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) graduate.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accountancy; master’s degree or equivalent is an advantage.
- At least 7–10 years of progressive accounting experience within banking or financial services, with a minimum of 3 years in a senior leadership or managerial capacity.
- Proficient in regulatory reporting and compliance, preferably with experience in BSP reporting.
- Strong leadership, organizational, and analytical skills.
- Exceptional attention to detail and integrity.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
