I. POSITION SUMMARY
The Accounting Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the accounting department, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting, compliance with accounting standards, and proper internal controls. This role supervises the accounting team, manages the company’s financial records, and provides strategic insights to support management decisions.
II. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
A. Financial Management
- Oversee and manage the general accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger.
- Ensure timely and accurate month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes.
- Prepare and review financial statements, management reports, and supporting schedules.
- Monitor cash flow, budgets, and forecasts.
B. Compliance and Audit
- Ensure compliance with local tax regulations, government reporting requirements, and accounting standards (e.g., PFRS/IFRS).
- Coordinate and liaise with external auditors, tax agents, and regulatory bodies.
- Implement and monitor internal controls to safeguard company assets.
C. Team Leadership
- Supervise and mentor accounting staff, ensuring high performance and professional growth.
- Assign tasks, review work output, and provide feedback to the accounting team.
- Foster a collaborative and efficient work environment.
D. Systems and Process Improvement
- Maintain and improve accounting systems and procedures to enhance efficiency.
- Identify areas for process optimization and cost savings.
- Ensure accurate and timely data entry into accounting systems.
E. Other Duties
- Support management with financial analysis for strategic decision-making.
- Perform other related tasks as assigned by management.
III. QUALIFICATIONS
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accountancy or equivalent; CPA license preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in accounting, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or managerial role.
- Skills:
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and Philippine taxation.
- Proficient in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Xero) and MS Excel.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Other Requirements: High attention to detail, integrity, and ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines.
IV. WORKING CONDITIONS
- Office-based, with occasional extended hours during reporting and audit periods.
- May require meetings with auditors, clients, and government agencies.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: Php40,000.00 - Php45,000.00 per month
