Main Function
Handles the overall management and supervision of the accounting department. This includes overseeing the work of accountants, reviewing financial statements, and preparing reports for upper management, and develop and implement accounting policies and procedures.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Manage and oversee the daily operations of the accounting department including: month and end-year closing, accounts payable/receivable, general ledger, payroll and utilities, budgeting and taxation.
- Prepare, examine and analyze accounting records, financial statements, and other financial reports to assess accuracy, completeness,
- Reconcile bank statements from all accounts against transactions in the accounting system and corresponding documentation
- Performs monitoring and reconciliation of open items including: APDP, ARDP, AR&AP Aging, Accrual and deferrals, GRNI, and container deposits
- Review tax computations and ensure compliance with payment deadlines, reporting and other requirements.
- Performs monthly balance sheet accounts review
- Establish and enforce proper accounting methods, policies and principles
- Ensures that financial statements and financial reports are accurate and conforms with reporting and procedural standards
- Responds to inquiries regarding bank related data and other accounting concerns
- Improve systems and procedures and initiate corrective actions

- Meet financial accounting objectives
- Establish and maintain fiscal files and records to document transactions
Work Experience
- Proven working experience as Accounting Manager, Accounting Supervisor or Finance Manager for at least 5 years preferably in a manufacturing company
Academic Background
Candidate must possess Bachelor's Degree in Accountancy preferably a Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
Competency Profile
- Proficient in MS Office Applications Especially Advanced Excel functions
- Knowledgeable in any accounting system/ ERP such as SAP Business one, Xero, Quickbooks, and Netsuite
- Ability to manipulate large amounts of data
- Proven knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting principles, practices, standards, laws and regulations
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Leadership Skills / Ability to direct and supervise
- Communication Proficiency both written and oral
