As AR/AP Officer you'll be managing the day-to-day AR/AP functions, performing bank reconciliations, supporting month-end reporting, and gradually taking on higher-level tasks in payroll, tax lodgments, and financial operations. It’s a hands-on role with real growth potential.
What You’ll Be Doing::
Accounts Receivable
- Invoice all MS Bundles and update the PW back-end
- Review Aged AR with the Senior Accountant; flag issues to the Financial Controller
- Handle supplier/vendor onboarding forms and systems
- Review AP invoice coding for accuracy
- Process approved employee reimbursements
- Prepare AP run and submit for approvals (twice monthly)
- Set up online banking payments for approvers
- Reconcile all bank accounts and credit cards in Xero daily
- Provide weekly cash flow updates versus forecast
- Perform MS Revenue month-end reconciliation and post MS Prepaid Revenue Journals
- Amortize prepayments and prepare related journal entries
- Reconcile permits
- Support Payroll Tax comp and lodgment
- Open to training in payroll processing and higher accounting tasks (e.g., PAYG, VAT lodgments)
- Handle ad hoc tasks such as adding new employees in Xero
Must-Have:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or related field
- 1–3 years of experience in Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, or combined AR/AP roles
- Proficiency in Xero accounting software and Microsoft Excel
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Effective time management and organizational skills
- Clear written and verbal communication skills
- Proactive attitude and willingness to learn higher-level accounting tasks (e.g., payroll, PAYG, GST)
- High level of integrity and ability to handle confidential information
- Team-oriented and able to collaborate in a fast-paced environment
- Experience working in an Australian business environment
- Familiarity with Australian tax compliance (e.g., GST, PAYG, Superannuation)
- Experience using QuickBooks Online
- Exposure to vendor onboarding and accounts-related process improvements
