The Assistant Quantity Surveyor will assist the department and implementation team in preparing/checking material requisition and assist the QS head in preparing quotations. The successful candidate will have strong technical skills, excellent communication abilities, and experience in costing and material quantification.
Key Responsibilities
1. Cost Estimation and Budgeting: Prepare and review detailed cost estimates, budgets, and financial reports for construction projects.
2. Tendering and Contract Administration: Assist in preparing and evaluating tenders, contracts, and variations.
3. Quantity Takeoff and Measurement: Conduct quantity takeoffs and measurements to ensure accurate costing including Bar Bending Schedule preparation.
4. Financial Reporting and Analysis: Analyze and report on project financial performance, identifying areas for cost savings and improvement.
5. Compliance and Risk Management: Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements, identifying and mitigating potential risks.
6. Continuous Improvement: Implement process improvements and best practices to enhance QS functions.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Minimum 1 year of experience in Quantity Surveying
- Preferably a resident of Marikina or nearby cities.
- Proficient in using spreadsheet and other related estimating software.
- Familiarity with cost estimation and budgeting
- Knowledge of computer-aided design (CAD) software
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
