The Audio Visual (AV) Technician is responsible for setting up, operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting AV equipment for events, meetings, and presentations. This includes sound systems, microphones, video screens, projectors, recording equipment, and video conferencing systems. The AV Technician works closely with event planners, presenters, and technical teams to ensure seamless audio and visual experiences.
Key Responsibilities:
- Set up, test, and operate AV equipment including microphones, speakers, video screens, projectors, video monitors, recording devices, and sound mixing equipment.
- Provide live AV support during events, conferences, meetings, webinars, and video calls.
- Ensure all AV equipment is functional and troubleshoot technical issues in real time.
- Assist with lighting, staging, and camera operation as needed.
- Maintain an inventory of AV equipment and ensure proper storage and care.
- Coordinate with internal teams and external vendors for AV needs.
- Provide technical guidance and training to end-users or event personnel.
- Document setups and provide reports post-event or as needed.
- Stay updated with new AV technologies and recommend upgrades when necessary.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as an AV Technician or in a similar technical role.
- Proficient in operating AV systems, conferencing platforms (Zoom, Teams, etc.), and video/audio editing software.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, or extended hours as needed.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Associate degree or certification in Audio Visual Technology, IT, or a related field.
- Experience with AV control systems
