Job description
A Barista is primarily responsible for preparing and serving coffee, espresso-based drinks, and other beverages to customers. Their key responsibilities include:
- Beverage Preparation: Brew coffee, espresso, and prepare a variety of drinks such as lattes, cappuccinos, and iced beverages, following recipes and customer preferences.
- Customer Service: Greet and interact with customers, take their orders, and provide recommendations based on their preferences.
- Maintaining Equipment: Clean and maintain coffee machines, grinders, blenders, and other related equipment to ensure optimal performance and hygiene.
- Stock Management: Monitor inventory levels for coffee beans, milk, syrups, and other ingredients, and inform management when stock is low.
- Cash Handling: Process customer payments, provide receipts, and handle cash or card transactions accurately.
- Creating a Positive Environment: Ensure a welcoming atmosphere by keeping the service area clean, organized, and stocked, while offering excellent customer service.
- Teamwork: Collaborate with other staff members, including kitchen and waitstaff, to ensure smooth operations in the restaurant.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Previous experience as a barista preferred
- Preferably with Barista NC II Certificate
- Knowledge of coffee types, brewing methods, and drink recipes
- Strong customer service skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Basic math skills for handling cash transactions
- Food safety certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Willing to be assigned at Sta. Cruz, Davao del Sur
