JOB PROFILE / REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accountancy, Finance, or related course.
- Preferably with professional certification (e.g., CPA, CMA), but not required.
- At least 1 year of relevant experience in bookkeeping, preferably in a financial institution or rural bank.
- Familiarity with BSP reporting requirements and rural banking operations is an advantage.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word; familiarity with accounting systems (e.g., QuickBooks) is an asset.
- Excellent attention to detail, organizational, and recordkeeping skills.
- Ability to handle multiple responsibilities in a small branch setting with minimal supervision.
- Strong integrity and commitment to confidentiality.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Record and monitor day-to-day financial transactions including cash receipts, disbursements, journal entries, and bank transactions.
- Ensure timely and accurate encoding of transactions into the bank’s accounting system.
- Prepare monthly bank reconciliations and validate the accuracy of branch-level financial records.
- Monitor and reconcile inter-branch transactions, petty cash, and other operational accounts.
- Prepare and submit monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports as required by Head Office and regulatory bodies (e.g., BSP).
- Assist in preparing regulatory compliance schedules (e.g., financial ratios, liquidity, loan reports) relevant to branch performance.
- Provide support during internal and external audits, including organizing supporting documents and addressing audit queries.
- Coordinate with Head Office Finance Team for consolidated reporting and guidance.
- Maintain organized filing of financial records, vouchers, and official receipts for audit and compliance.
- Perform other administrative and clerical tasks necessary to support overall branch operations.
