The Ceiling Installer is responsible for installing, repairing, and finishing different types of ceiling systems including acoustic, gypsum board (drywall), metal furring, and suspended ceilings in commercial, residential, and industrial buildings.
Key Responsibilities:
- Measure and mark ceiling layouts according to blueprints or instructions.
- Install metal furring, carriers, hangers, and frames to support ceilings.
- Cut, shape, and fit ceiling tiles, panels, or boards using hand and power tools.
- Install gypsum board or acoustic panels using appropriate fasteners and adhesives.
- Ensure proper alignment, spacing, and finish of ceiling panels.
- Patch, seal, and smooth joints and edges with compound and sanding tools.
- Follow safety standards and wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Coordinate with other trades (e.g., electricians, HVAC) to accommodate ceiling integration.
- Clean and maintain tools and work area after installation.
Qualifications:
- At least High School Graduate or TESDA NC II holder (e.g., Carpentry, Construction Painting, or relevant trade).
- Vocational training or short courses in ceiling or drywall installation preferred.
- Minimum 1–2 years of experience in ceiling installation or general construction work.
- Familiarity with local and international building codes is a plus.
- Knowledge of ceiling systems: gypsum board, acoustic tiles, suspended ceilings, metal framing.
- Ability to read construction drawings and layout plans.
- Skilled in using construction tools like power drills, cutters, levels, and tape measures.
- Good eye for detail and alignment.
- Physically fit; able to lift and install ceiling materials safely.
- Ability to work at heights or on scaffolding.
- Willing to be assigned in Cebu.
- Team player with good work ethic.
- Punctual and responsible.
- Can work under minimal supervision.
- Can start ASAP.
