Job Description
The Channel Development Specialist is responsible for delivering sales results in the assigned territory for Pet Food of Pilmico Animal Nutrition Corporation through active selling and promotional activities, establishing strong relationships with current and potential customers.
BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT
Deliver the monthly, quarterly, and annual business objectives (MT, IOICF, Metric Ton/TM CSAT Rating, Forecast Accuracy ) for the assigned territory and channel
Introduces, demonstrates, and promotes the company's entire pet food product portfolio to existing and potential customers in the assigned territory.
Take sales orders from customers and liaise with customer service for the fulfillment of sales orders.
Act as the principal ambassador of the company and a source of product, dog, and cat knowledge for the customer.
Coordinate and ensure delivery of products and services to the customers at a high and competitive level.
Grow the customer base through constant recruitment of new customers.
Encourage vertical growth/SKU penetration from existing customers.
Implement the sales promotional and marketing plans within the assigned territory.
Ensure that each customer is visited regularly and prepare and submit to the line manager a master call plan for each period.
Identify opportunities, problems, and issues within the sales territory and take or ask the Team Leader's approval for corrective actions promptly
Implements and/or monitors Category-initiated programs and activities targeted for a region or area.
Coordinate with the Pet Food Sales Team, Product Innovation Team, Brand, and Marketing Team to gather data for business planning and determine market intelligence.
Lead forecasting and demand planning for their channels
Assist in building channel growth strategies along with the category team (availability, display, activations)
Qualifications
Education:
A graduate of any 4-year course. A Doctor of Veterinary Medicine and a BS Agriculture major in animal science graduate are prioritized.
Experience:
Minimum 2 years of experience in sales
Key Functional Skills or Knowledge:
Excellent understanding of dog, cat, and product knowledge
Must have strong customer service skills.
Effective communication and presentation skills
Must have the ability to work independently with little supervision.
Driving
Basic computer skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Proficiency in the use of productivity tools. Must have good negotiation skills.
