About the Role
As the CFO Philippines Branch, you are responsible for leading the Finance function of the Philippines Branch. Key accountabilities include ensuring all statutory and regulatory reporting obligations for the Philippines Branch are adequately met and upholding integrity of the numbers by delivering accurate, reliable and timely financial information.
You will develop and embed a strong risk, governance and ‘control conscious’ culture within the finance team, ensuring compliance with relevant standards, frameworks, policies, legislation and regulations.
You will develop and maintain effective relationships with key stakeholders across Finance, Business and other functions. You will drive the simplification agenda, ensuring consistency with objectives and a focus on continuous improvement for the Philippines Branch Finance function.
This is a key leadership position within Philippines Branch and as such you will be expected to contribute your financial leadership to the local ExCo and other governance forums as well as provide leadership input on broader Branch matters including people, regulatory and other strategic initiatives as required.

What will your day look like?
As a Chief Financial Officer, your key accountabilities include:
- Management of country finance cost and balance sheet performance
- Driving business performance in the country to meet earnings targets set by Institutional
- Managing country funding requirements and economic and regulatory capital
- Responsible for provision of accurate and timely financial reporting for Group, Regulatory and Statutory purposes
- Ensuring that there are sufficient controls, governance over accounting & reporting of ANZ in the region in line with Group policies and local requirements
- Maintaining effective control of expenditure and proactively undertake the necessary investigation to identify opportunities to save costs
- Managing relationships with regulators, central banks and rating agency
- Driving the Finance agenda in all relevant forums including but not limited to ALCO & ExCo
- Developing and managing the performance of the Finance team to ensure quality output as well as individual development, including coaching and guidance to enable staff to meet agreed goals with clarity around individual roles and expectations
- Full understanding of and compliance with internal policy and procedural requirements as well as regulatory/statutory requirements and statutory/regulatory bodies
- Managing financial governance across the business including Attestations and other period end requirements for business or Group sign off
What will you bring?
To grow and be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following:
- Chartered Accountant (CA) or CPA or equivalent with extensive years of professional experience in Finance roles.
- Experience with statutory and regulatory accounting within a banking/insurance environment.
- Structured and analytical – you are well-planned, investigative, methodical and solution orientated, using financial information effectively with your technical skillset to solve issues and support decisions in a systematic way.
- A communicator and an influencer – you are an energetic presenter and empathetic listener; able to distil facts, articulate and present key messages in a clear and concise manner, tailored to suit specific audiences.
- A team leader and player – you are known for your interpersonal skills, and you enjoy creating and / or leading teams, and working within a team to achieve common goals, building effective stakeholder relationships to achieve outcomes together.
- Curious, commercial and informed – you have a genuine interest in the International business, products and the economic environment in which the business operates; and a desire to keep up to date on issues impacting the industry.
